Between turtles and starfish...
The excursion takes place with a fast boat departing at 8.30 am.
The first stop is the Peñon caves: from here we relax in the “natural pools”, an extensive area with a very shallow sandy bottom about half a kilometer from the coast. Here the sea is turquoise in color and we can admire the famous starfish in the mangroves, where the lucky ones will be able to see the turtles in their habitat.
The beach of the village of Mano Juan is the next stop: a pleasant walk in the paths of the fishing village in perfect integration with the local community.
We then visit the observation point of turtle eggs and the houses of the inhabitants with the typical Caribbean colors.
At 12.30 pm we are ready to eat with a buffet of lobster, rice, pasta, salad, tropical fruit and typical dessert… all cooked with care by our local staff. Beer, cuba libre, mamajuana, coffee and soft drinks enrich the drinks department.
After lunch, here we are on our way to Canto de la Playa: we drop anchor and set sail on a beach with miles and miles of fine white and pink coral sand. Here we find crystal clear water where you can dive surrounded by fish of various species and colors; a seabed rich in corals; many palm groves that extend across the bay, tall and imposing. And if we’re hungry… we will have a snack and open bar available.
On the way back there is another stop at a sandbank in the middle of the sea to take a last swim with many starfish.
